In 2018, the UC Davis Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) observed National First-Generation College Celebration (FGCC) Day. The celebration began with a commemorative photo on November 8th, 2018. We recruited 500+ advocates and supporters of first-generation college students. Participants gathered to form a giant one for our commemorative photo—the first of three parts of a celebration for the FGCC. With guidance from my mentors, I led the FGCC during the 2018 & 2019 academic years.
