Writing is integral to student success in schools, as students’ content knowledge is often assessed through writing. Knowing this, it is important to provide students with opportunities to develop their writing skills year-round. While teaching language skills, I created this anchor chart to help students practice and analyze syntax. Students utilized the chart to learn and discuss simple, compound, and complex sentences throughout the year.
